Ex-Patient Plans 50k Walk to Fundraise for Rebuild

Lena Pearson-Wood – An Ex-patient & Rebuild Trustee

On September 14th, Rebuild’s Trustee, Lena Pearson-Wood, will be walking 50k (over 31 miles) from Staines-upon-Thames to Henley-upon-Thames, with the aim to complete the challenge in under 12 hours!

Lena explains, “In December 2023 my Tibia and Fibula were shattered after another horse kicked out at mine. Luckily I was taken to Kings College hospital in London where I received the most amazing care from the surgeons and the limb reconstruction team and in only 8 months I was back riding.

The charity wants to be able to provide more mental health support for patients and their families, to assist with the devastating effect these injuries can cause. None of us know when we might need the care from such an amazing charity. Any donation big or small would be much appreciated! ”
