Lena Smashes Fundraising Target for 50km Walk!

We’re thrilled to say that on Saturday, Rebuild’s Trustee, Lena Pearson-Wood, walked 50km (over 31 miles) from Staines-upon-Thames to Henley-on-Thames in the Thames Path Challenge, raising over £4000 for Rebuild!

This is an incredible achievement for Lena, who only a year ago was just off crutches after having limb reconstruction using an external frame. Lena had a serious riding accident in December 2023, when she was kicked by a horse, shattering the tibia and fibula of her right leg. She was treated at King’s and was so grateful for the care she received, that she recently became a Trustee for Rebuild.

The cash that Lena has fundraised will go towards the charity’s campaign for better mental health support for patients to help them with the life changing impact these injuries can often cause.

Lena is Rebuild’s Fundraising Trustee and is always keen to hear from other patients who might have ideas for future fundraising events.
